May is National Foster Care Month
The STARRY Foster Care Program is joining with other agencies across the country in observing National Foster Care Month in May.
There are more than 33,600 children in Foster Care in Texas and almost 300 in Williamson County, STARRY’s primary service area, according to 2007 statistics compiled by the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services (TDFPS).

Brittany is not your typical 17-year-old girl. A native of Missouri, she grew up in a small tight-knit town surrounded by hot rods and hard workers. But after moving to Texas, away from her grandmother, the one person she relied on most, her life quickly began turning into an all-too frequent teenage scenario.
